Brian, an original founder and tenant of the Whitehaus, has the distinct honor of submitting the shortest track to ARE YOU IN PARADISE? Clocking in at a FULL 47 seconds, Brian’s poem “engines no. 2″ showcases his skill with words and vivacious imagination. At the release celebration, Brian’s poem will be performed by Ximena of the Muthership.
Nobody knew that a quiet, cold, snowy night in Atlanta would be so life-changing for the city of Boston. The evening that Peace, Loving first met Hurricanes of Love was just an ordinary night on a band’s first cross-country tour. But the vibes were flowing, and within a year Frank moved in. His track for ARE YOU IN PARADISE? was recorded at the Whitehaus and features Jake the holy saw player.
FRANK will be performing live at SPECTACLE in three different bands: GANGSTA LOVE, HURRICANES OF LOVE, and KNIGHT HOWLS!!
ARE YOU IN PARADISE? is the lucky first appearance of the recording and performance project known as TIME SOLO. No one knows very much about this project. We are pleased to announce that the band sounds fantastic, and that they are very good looking as well. You will certainly enjoy the show they put on!
We chose Peace, Loving as the opener for the ARE YOU IN PARADISE? record because they are the ultimate band. Truly. If you want to know any more about Peace, Loving, please read the Boston Hassle feature on them: “Just One Person’s Perspective”. At the Spectacle show on 2/11, Peace, Loving will be performing a total of 6 songs, acting as the backing band for Gracious Calamity, Welcome Home, B. Law, Morgan Shaker, Shira E. (as played by Shai E.), and themselves.
Former Whitehaus resident Greg Sun moved to Martha’s Vineyard, became a carpenter, still kicks out textured, subtle, dynamic tunes that are a pleasure to listen to. Do check out his website at sunofbees.com
Shai started coming to the hootenannies when he was 8 years old, and moved into the Whitehaus shortly thereafter. Now he creates killer rock jams by day and by night. Seven Heads is the classic story of the monster under the bed coming to get you and all of your family. Good Jamz!! Give it a whirl!!
Thunderheart, from New York City. He’s been around for a while but is a recent addition to the family catalog. His track “I Don’t Need The Moon” is widely regarded as wonderful. Listen for the sounds of knives sharpening and the like. He will be appearing live on Feb 11 at Spectacle
Remember that time you were driving on the highway, and the highway was right next to the ocean, and you rolled the windows down and a swaft of salty air curled around your face, and you took a deep breath and thought, “Yeah the ocean smells great no matter the season,” and there were sea birds and turtles all along the side of the highway, dancing in the corner of your eye and stopping every time you looked directly at them ? Yeah. This song is like that. Come see Jimmy the Scientist do it live at Spectacle on 2/11.
Illlich is the nom de plume, de broome, in the month of june. Little is known about this man. Everywhere he goes he is followed by cats. He used to work in the chili business but now he is a vinyl record man. Seriously influential. Sneeriously / will be appearing LIVE at spectacle 2/11/12
